Why We Rally...
To enhance public awareness, because legislators need to know that Mental Health Matters.
To put an end to the stigma related to mental illness & developmental disabilities, because Michigan does not have parity (equality) between mental health & physical health care coverage.
To promote mental health and wellness, because we can make a difference!

We are a mental health advisory committee, known as the Consumer Council, out of the Petoskey North Country Community Mental Health office, which serves Northern Michigan, including Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet, Kalkaska and Otsego Counties.
The Consumer Council is made up of previous and current clients; 3 appointed individuals from each represented county. The Consumer Council organizes advisory groups, ad hoc committees, and workgroups with the goal of reviewing and providing feedback regarding NCCMH programs, policies, and procedures.
We (the Consumer Council) created this website to empower people with mental health issues by:
- providing local and national mental health resources, news and tools for recovery
- promoting awareness of stigma
- promoting anti-stigma
- sharing stories, poetry and art
You can also tell your story about your experiences with mental health and how you obtained wellness and recovery.
Submit your work to the Consumer Council by:
Fax: Attn: Joan 1-231-347-1241
